The Incredibles!
The "Incredibles" preparing for a Halloween party. Don't worry, SuperOreo watched over the area while we were gone.

Movement!
Today Nicole felt the baby move for the very first time. She was reading in the back bedroom when she felt the movement (I think it was doing jumping jacks, getting ready for basketball season). She put my hand on the spot where she felt the movement, but I couldn't feel anything. The movement will probably be something that will start to occur more often. What we're really excited for is our appointment with the sonographer this coming Wednesday where we'll find out whether it is a boy or a girl. I've got a hunch it's a boy, and Nicole thinks that it's a girl. Whoever is right gets to name the baby (yeah right). So stay tuned, we should have pictures up (hopefully of the baby) this coming Wednesday.
Nicole with the finished product! You can't really tell in the light, but it's a haunted house.
Me hard at work, carving the pumpkin (but Nicole did most of the work).

Oreo's Trip to the Bark Park
Oreo hasn't gotten out much since we've been here so we thought we'd take him to a happenin' place called the "Bark Park" so he could make some friends. The "Bark Park" is a fenced area (it used to be a softball diamond) where local Topekans can bring their dogs to play. The Sampsons and the Deweys were also there with their dogs. We think Oreo had a good time and we'll probably take him back soon.
The Dewey's, Sampson's, and the Eldridge's, dogs included.
At first Oreo wasn't too interested in socializing with the other dogs.
Eventually he came down, but stuck pretty close to me for awhile, until he discovered their was more to the park.

Oreo even made some friends, both big...
...and small.

Late Night in the Phog
Wow! KU is going to sneak up on some people this year. Going to Late Night was definitely a highlight of our return to Kansas (at least for Mike). As the crowd chanted the "
Rock Chalk" chant, the babe lept in the womb for joy (Luke 1:44).
This is Jeremy Case throwing one down, this one was weak compared to all of the other ones. The pictures we took really don't do the dunks justice.
These guys can get way up there with their high flying acrobatics. The best dunks this year will come from Rodrick Stewart, Julian Wright, Brandon Rush, CJ Giles, and Me on the SHES playground. If you look on the first row behind the bench you can see some of the recruits that showed up, there were 10 of them.
Me and Nicole as Late Night in the Phog comes to an end.
This guy is a who's who among wheelchair basketball players. I forgot his name, but I'll update this once I figure it out. They showed a video montage on the new videoboard and it really is amazing the things that he can do. He was a very friendly and extremely humble person. I was really trying hard not to blink for this picture and ended up looking all cockeyed.
