Happy Birthday Grandma!

 

My New Tricks

Noelle has recently been sitting up alot. She does pretty good at sitting up, but sometimes she falls either on her face or back. She also has found her feet and loves to put them in her mouth! 

 

 

Noelle's 6 Month Appointment

This morning Noelle went in for her 6 month check up. The doctor said she weighs 16 1/2 pounds and is 26 1/2 inches tall, which puts her at 50% - 75% for her weight and 75% for her height. It is amazing how much she has grown, she has almost tripled her birthweight. I was suprised at how tall she is, it seems like she has shot up all at once. I thought she was going to be short like me, but it looks like she will be taller like her dad. Noelle also had to get 4 shots. Mike was so nice to get off work for an hour to come with me to be with Noelle and comfort her while she is getting her shots.

What is This Nasty Stuff?

Noelle had her first taste of green beans tonight. I have given her carrots, rice cereal and poi which she loved. But tonight when I gave her green beans she made a funny face like she was thinking "What is this nasty stuff?" I guess Noelle is not a big fan of green beans.

Hanging Out With Friends

Last night we went to visit the Kaus and Lingenbrinks. It was fun to see the Kaus who just moved to the Kansas City area for dental school. It was the first time that we were able to see their new baby girl Vivian. All of the baby girls are about three months apart and are so fun to see interact with each other. 

We took about ten pictures to finally get a good picture of all the babies sitting up on the couch and sort of looking in the same direction.

Our stay in Hawaii sadly came to an end. Noelle was sad to say bye to her Grandma and Grandpa Tenn. She sure misses all the shaved ice and pool time she got while she was there!

While we were in Maui, C and James came to visit Noelle while they were celebrating their one year anniversary.

Swimming in the Pool

My parents bought Noelle a swimming pool to play in in the backyard. I'm sure the pool will get lots of use while we are here.

Lanipoko Beach

Today Noelle went to the beach for the first time. We decided to go to Lanipoko, which is a beach my parents took me to during the summers as a little girl. Noelle liked looking at the water (as you can tell from the picture) and didn't seem to mind the sand on her toes. Noelle stayed in the water longer than me with her Papa because there were lots of little fish that liked to nibble on my feet. 

I had lots of fun swimming with my Papa.

Are we there yet?

We are finally here in Maui to visit my family for two weeks. It's a little hot and we are still trying to get use to the time difference, but it is nice to be home. It was quite the adventure for me to fly from Kansas City to Maui by myself with Noelle but we made it. For our first flight to Arizona the flight wasen't full so they let Noelle have a seat, but for our long flight to Maui the flight was full so Noelle sat on my lap for the 5 1/2 hour flight. Luckily she slept for three hours of it. I have made this trip many times before but this one was definetly the longest flight of my life. 

I love this stuff!

The other day we went to Kimo's for lunch and got a drink with a pineapple slice on it. We decided to give it to Noelle to chew on. She loved it and the waitress even brought a couple more slices of pineapple for Noelle. After she gnawed on it we realized that her face would probably get a little raw because of the acid from the pineapple. Her mouth did get a little red but I think Noelle thinks it was worth it! 

Aunty Naomi

Aunty Naomi came to visit me for a couple of days. We had lots of fun while she was here.
