We have been married for five and a half years and are blessed with two beautiful girls. Noelle is three and Maile was born in April 2009. After living in Hawaii for a year after college we made a big move to Kansas where we now live. Mike works for Sunflower Marketing
and will be attending Washburn University here in town to get his MBA. Nicole enjoys spending her days home witn Noelle. Life is good!
Tonight Tyler came over again to bring more dirt for our garden. While we were waiting for him in the backyard, I found an earthworm in Noelle's sandbox. Of course I was scared of it and called for Mike to come. I try not to influence Noelle when it comes to my dislikes. Mike showed Noelle the worm and asked her if she wanted to hold it. At first she was a little nervous, but after holding it she didn't want to put it down. She kept telling us that the worm was tickling her. I have a feeling that she is going to want me to find her more worms. I guess I better start liking worms a little more.
Our good friend Tyler brought over a truck load of dirt for our vegetable garden. Mike gave one of his gloves to Noelle to wear so she wouldn't get splinters in her hands from the wheelbarrow. As you can tell, she put them on all by herself.
While she was in the backyard, Noelle found some dandilions. I showed her how to blow them, and she ran around picking and blowing all the dandilions she could find.
Last night after dinner Mike wanted to eat some "Monster Cookies". Since I'm not very good at making cookies for him, he decided to get the ingredients at the store to make monster cookies. Noelle loves to help her dad especially making cookies when she can eat the ingredients before the cookies are done.
Yesterday we went to Grandma Linda's house and she was making some bread. Noelle wanted to help so Grandma gave her some dough to kneed. After she was done we put it in a small bread pan. It was a perfect size loaf for Noelle!
When the bread came out of the oven, Noelle was so excited to eat it that she kept nibbling holes into the top of her loaf while I was trying to take a picture of her with her bread.
This morning when Mike went on his bike ride he got a flat tire. So tonight he put another tire on his bike. Noelle loved helping and copying Mike. She would watch everything he did and then would do exactly what he did. She started off with her clothes on, but since she was playing with the bike she was getting really dirty, so we took her clothes off.
Last night KU played North Carolina in the final four game. The game started during Preisthood Session of General Conference and so Mike only got to watch the second half. Believe it or not, I have become a huge KU basketball fan (thanks to my husband) and love watching the games. I even am getting better at filling out a bracket for the tournament. Last night's game was so stressful though, but in the end KU won, so they will be in the National Championship game on Monday. We have been teaching Noelle the Rock chalk Jayhawk chant. I think she will be a KU fan too! Go Jayhawks!
This morning during General Conference we decided to try to occupy Noelle by having her watch movies while we watched Conference. It worked like a charm. She watched her movies 95% of the time and for the other 5% she would come into the computer room to check up on us. Mike made her some lunch and then I watched the end of conference. When it finished, I went and checked on Noelle since she was being so good. I found her slouched in her chair sleeping. Hopefully the rest of the sessions of General Conference will go as smoothly!
Noelle's new favorite stuffed animal to play with is my not so "new" teddy bear I had since I was little. "Teddy" was loved for many years which is very obvious looking at him. Noelle loves to pretend that he is a baby and take care of him and hide under the blankets with him. Hopefully Teddy will be played with for many years to come.
It has been so fun keeping in touch with people through our blog. We especially like to see what our friends are up to, being so far away for everyone. After much thought we have decided that we need to make our blog private. We don't want to seem paranoid, but its something that we have felt like we needed to do for a while. So if you would like to continue to see what we are up to on our blog, leave your email address in the comments section of this post and we will put you on the list! Since we check our comments before they are published, don't worry we won't publish your comment with your email address. Our blog will go private in a week or so.
